It's autumn, my favorite time of year. I love everything about it - the weather, apple cider, pumpkin cookies, the bright colors, the limitless potential of a new school year, the way a tree which you swore was green the day before is suddenly the most beautiful shade of red in the world...everything. Composers throughout history have sought to express the beauty of the season through music, and we'll take a look at three different interpretations today. Below, the most famous - Vivaldi's Four Seasons, performed here by Julia Fischer. Russian composer Alexander Glazunov wrote a ballet called The Seasons. Here's the autumn movement. More recently, Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, famous for his tangos, wrote "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires." Below you can hear a performance from Boston Conservatory and the "Autumn" or "Otoño" movement. So, what do you think?
